MORE THAN ONCE - Oct 2024 , Centre D Art Auroville , Pondicherry , India
"More Than Once" examines the themes of repetition and transformation through the lens of the everyday.
The works engage with objects and imprints that carry the weight of familiarity, drawing attention to what is often dismissed or overlooked. By recontextualizing these elements, the boundaries between the ordinary and the profound are blurred, inviting reflection on cycles of use, disposal, and renewal.
Repetition becomes a method of exploration, where each iteration reveals new layers of meaning. The process of reworking these materials speaks to the persistence inherent in both artistic and societal practices, while subtly critiquing systems of excess and disposability. Here, repetition is not simply the act of duplication, but an opportunity for transformation, offering a nuanced perspective on the potential for renewal within everyday life.
"More Than Once" opens a dialogue on the tension between potential and realized form, where the act of repetition becomes a method of discovery rather than mere duplication. "More Than Once" highlights the persistence embedded in creative and social cycles, revealing beauty and meaning within the very act of continuous creation and re-creation.

Under the Skin JULY 2012 No 1 Shanthi Road , Bangalore - India
Exhibition delves into skin as a metaphor for identity, memory, and transformation. Using ink drawings on canvas, crushed paper cups, and daily newspapers, he explores the tactile nature of surface and time. At 1.Shanthiroad Artist Residency, he maps personal imprints—birthmarks, wounds, and abrasions—onto his artistic process, treating the canvas as both a container and a site of change. Rooted in the politics of skin and identity, his work highlights the fragility of the body and the constant process of shedding, renewal, and reinvention.

Untitled Solo exhibition - Oct 2012 , Apparao Gallery Chennai -India
This exhibition explored materiality, memory, and participation through diverse mediums. Train tickets, holograms, and imprints from biryani vessels captured traces of human interaction and urban consumption. Participatory works engaged audiences, blurring the line between observer and creator. Drawings and sculptural interventions, such as a fiber-made jackfruit placed on a rubber tree trunk, reflected themes of displacement and transformation. Through these varied materials, the exhibition examined cycles of use, decay, and renewal, offering a poetic reflection on temporality and excess in everyday life.

Exhibit View – United Art Fair, Delhi (2012)
This installation combined found objects, personal collections, and video to examine themes of consumption, transformation, and containment. Sweet bottles sourced from small petty shops were displayed as sculptural elements, reflecting patterns of everyday use and commercial excess. These bottles, repurposed as vessels for holding fragments of the artist’s own work, became containers of memory and artistic reflection. Alongside this, a video documenting the growth of plants inside a condom played, emphasizing ideas of restriction and adaptation.

Manmade - Absence of food (Imprint of Food on Plate)
This work captures the ephemeral traces of food by casting the residual imprints left on plates with cement, preserving moments of consumption and absence. The process transforms fleeting marks—oil stains, leftover grains, and hand gestures—into permanent, fossilized imprints. By solidifying what is usually discarded or washed away, the work conceptualizes the absence of food, addressing themes of sustenance, scarcity, and memory. The cement plates stand as silent witnesses to consumption, questioning the relationship between excess and deprivation while evoking the fragility of survival and the social disparities tied to food accessibility.

SIGNIFICANCE WITHIN
Flaps and boxes" reflects themes of repetition, resilience, and transformation, aligning seamlessly with the overarching narrative of More Than Once. This metal sculpture draws inspiration from the everyday, reimagining familiar forms and imprints through a process that blurs the boundaries between the ordinary and the profound.
The layered, folding elements of the piece evoke the flapping of wings or the opening of petals, symbolizing the cycles of use, disposal, and renewal that define both natural and human systems. "Flaps of Life" critiques the culture of excess and disposability by reclaiming industrial remnants, presenting them as vessels of persistence and vitality.

Meditation Starts Growing (2012)
This work was created during an art camp in Khustia, Bangladesh, using clay collected from a nearby lake. The clay and rope were shaped into a large japa mala—a form inspired by prayer beads. Seeds were gently pressed into each clay bead, allowing plants to slowly sprout and grow over time.
The piece is a simple reflection on how calmness and quiet repetition can hold the potential for life and renewal.
